Twenty thousand soldiers from 13 countries are taking part in NATO's Nordic Response military exercise. As Euronews reports, on land, in the sea and in the air, they will work on the defence and protection of the alliance's countries in the northern region.
The manoeuvres involve more than 50 ships and more than 110 combat aircraft. The exercises are taking place in Sweden, Finland and Norway, in the Finnmark region.
The head of Finnmark Land Defence, Jorn Quiller, said, "First of all, Finnmark is an area that has the potential to be the site of possible aggression by Russia. It is important that we practise in a relevant area."
