The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan has once again voiced, through its press secretary, its aspirations towards the sovereign territory of Armenia.
“Yesterday, at the Lachin BCP [(border checkpoint)], fire were opened on servicemen of Azerbaijan Border Guards, when the Azerbaijani flag was raised in its sovereign territory on the Hakari bridge,” Azerbaijani MFA spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada wrote on Twitter Friday. “This bridge was built by Azerbaijan just recently, & claim that the flag raised in Armenia’s territory is baseless.”
To note, the aforesaid actions of the Azerbaijani side were stopped by the retaliatory measures taken by the National Security Service of Armenia.
