Turkish textile company Akincilar has signed a cooperation agreement with the scientific research institute of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan, Anadolu Agency reports.
The press service of the aforesaid company reported that according to the protocol signed between the parties, a joint production enterprise and laboratory will be established in Azerbaijan.
At present, Akincilar company manufactures body armor, ballistic helmets, military uniforms, etc. in Izmir, Turkey.
The defense products, which will be manufactured in Azerbaijan in a joint venture, are planned to be supplied to third countries.
"Bulletproof defense products will be manufactured in Azerbaijan for the first time. Akincilar engineers and the scientific research institute of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan will jointly develop production in the innovation center," said Ahmet Can Uzuntepe, Akincilar Tactical Textile Chairman of the Board.
