The largest NATO air force exercises will begin in Germany on Monday, the press service of the German armed forces—the Bundeswehr—informed.
According to the German ministry of defense, 250 aircraft and 10,000 soldiers from 25 countries will take part in the Air Defender 23 exercise. They will prepare for operations in the European airspace.
According to the scenario, NATO will provide assistance in accordance with Article 5 of the organization's charter.
The fifth generation American F-35 fighter jets are expected to be introduced at the exercises.
