Putin announces Russian nuclear weapons’ deployment in Belarus after July 7-8

The deployment of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus will begin immediately after the preparation of structures for them is completed on July 7-8, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Friday during a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, TASS reports.

"Regarding the most sensitive issues we have agreed on, everything is going according to plan; on July 7-8, the preparation of the corresponding weapons is completing. And we will immediately begin measures in connection with deploying the corresponding types of weapons in your territory. Everything is going according to plan, everything is stable," Putin told Lukashenko, RIA Novosti reports.

The Russian president added that today he will talk with his Belarusian colleague "face to face" about security issues.

"In general, the situation is stable; I would even say good. We confidently collaborate in this domain," he said.

Having finished the open part of the meeting, Vladimir Putin addressed Aleksandr Lukashenko and said: "There is always something to talk about. That's exactly what we will do today."
