One of the world's largest military equipment manufacturers, British BAE Systems, has announced a record number of orders in 2022 after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. This is reported by The Defense Post.
According to the publication, the company's total orders for 2022 were $44.7 billion. BAE CEO Charles Woodburn said this situation gives the company confidence to deliver long-term growth and to continue to invest in new technology, facilities and thousands of highly skilled jobs while increasing shareholder returns.
Most of the countries in which we operate have either announced increases or are planning to increase spending to address the heightened threat, the publication quoted the company as saying.
It also notes that BAE stock on the London Stock Exchange has risen in value by nearly 50 percent over the year.
BAE Systems produces combat aircraft Typhoon, Tornado, Hawk, tanks Challenger 2, infantry fighting vehicles CV90, Warrior, Bradley, howitzers M777, missiles, submarines, surface ships and aircraft carriers (for example, HMS Queen Elizabeth).
The company also owns a 49% stake in the Kazakh airline Air Astana.
