A storm and record rainfall that hit the coast of Brazil's Sao Paulo over the weekend killed 46 people and left 49 others missing, G1 reported.
Rescue teams resumed their search Tuesday for victims of the storm that struck the northern coast of São Paulo last weekend. According to the civil defense service, 46 people died - 45 in Sao Sebastiao and one in Ubatuba. Previously, 49 were reported missing, according to a story on the portal's website.
Record rainfall in Sao Paulo over the weekend reached 600 millimeters in some areas, now moderate rains continue to fall in the region. Rescue efforts are focused on the southern coast of the city of São Sebastião, which suffered the brunt of the storm.
