An explosion at a steel plant in Bedford, Ohio, Monday injured 13 people and took them to the hospital. One person later died, a local Fox News station reported, citing firefighters.
At the time of hospitalization, the condition of at least one of the victims was assessed as critical. He died several hours later.
According to Fox News, the explosion occurred Feb. 20 at the Schumann & Co. smelter, which produces copper alloys. Crews from several communities were involved in extinguishing the fire that started because of the explosion. The fire is under control. Locals complain of smoke and the smell of burning oil.
