Weapons on the battlefield of the Ukrainian conflict are supplied by the United States, not China, Washington should stop spreading misinformation and shifting responsibility to others, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a briefing on Monday, RIA Novosti reported.
"Weapons on the battlefield are continuously supplied by the United States, not China. The U.S. has no right to give China orders and directives, nor will we ever accept instructions or even threats and pressure from the U.S. with regard to Russia-China relations. China's policy on the Ukrainian issue boils down to one phrase: promote reconciliation and facilitate negotiations," the diplomat said.
He noted that at the end of the day it is obvious to the entire international community who is calling for dialogue for peace and who is pouring oil on the fire and provoking confrontation.
"We call on the U.S. to seriously rethink its actions and deeds, to take more practical steps to defuse the situation and promote peace talks, and to stop shifting responsibility and spreading false information," he added.
Wang Wenbin stressed that China will continue to stand firmly on the side of dialogue and peace, and play a constructive role in promoting détente.
