As a follow-up to the statement issued today by First President of the Republic of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan concerning his May 1 meeting with Third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the Third President of the Republic of Armenia confirms the fact of such a meeting, at which Serzh Sargsyan declined Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s offer to participate in a bloc in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
In response to Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s proposal, Serzh Sargsyan emphasized that the bipartite alliance could not be effective, recalling his position voiced during the previous meeting, according to which the alliance of former presidents could be effective if all parties came to an agreement in principle on the matter hand.
